We happened to see that very often people have a distorted idea about the farmhouses, also thanks to the proliferation of structures which, while not being it, publicize it as such. So, to avoid misunderstandings and to avoid being mistaken for other, we want to clarify right away that we are a farm. The comfort of the rooms and the quality of the restaurant are what you would expect from any hotel of high standard, but we are in the country, or rather in the hills, we are just 15 km from the nearest village, we are animals, not only dogs and cats but also chickens, hens, goose that run free in the farmyard; there are insects in summer, outside, inside usually not, since there are mosquito nets, but do not be surprised if they see anyone. On the other hand you are inside a SIC (Site of Community Importance), where biodiversity are protected the and where you may also encounter wild animals such as porcupines, foxes, wild boar, deer and many others and that what you eat is grown or bred by us or from nearby farms.

A farm is the business of a farmer who offers to tourists, in his own funds, accommodation and meals, using his own products and sometimes organizing recreational and cultural activities.
is a farmer “He who exercises activities aimed at cultivation of the soil, forestry, animal husbandry and related activities” (art. 2135, paragraph I, of the Civil Code).
Article 2 of the framework law on farm 730/1985 defines the farmhouse as “any business of the reception and hospitality practiced by farmers […] through the use of his company in connection and relationship of complementarity with the activities of cultivation of the soil, forestry, livestock breeding, which must still remain the main. “
This means that cultivation can be carried out either in person or by employees, but must own agricultural lands that provide farm income. Only those who satisfy this condition can take ownership of the farmhouse, as a natural person, in company with others or as a cooperative, they can then make use of family members as employees or hire employees.
The farmhouse activities will always be linked and complementary to agriculture, which will in any case remain prevalent. In fact, it is the agricultural activities to provide most of the products used for food in farmhouse.
To start the tourism activities should therefore have a farm, property, tenancy, lease, loan, or other valid title. It should also be it an operating farm , so it is not sufficient, for example, be an owner of a fund or a cottage, but in the farm must be effectively exercised an activity of cultivation, livestock or forestry.
Concerning the structures, can be used as accommodation only the farm buildings have already been used for farming or as a dwelling of the farmer which is not more than thirty beds, with some exceptions regulated by regional laws. No other building is permitted, even if owned by the same farmer. In addition, is not possible build ex novo, but only conversions or recoveries.
